Can I connect two different brand systems using a Direct Attach Cable?
Many OEM's require specific coding for their devices and can, therefore, only be used end to end in the same equipment. For instance, a Cisco compatible SFP-H10GB-CU1M DAC cable can't be used to connect a Cisco switch to an HP switch, only Cisco to Cisco. This is a problem when faced with multiple network manufacturers equipment in the same rack.
